Pro-vitamin B5 (Panthenol)

  • Attracting water to and holding it in the skin
  • Restoring the function of the skin barrier
  • Anti-inflammatory
  • Activating the proliferation of cells

Panthenol is the provitamin – a precursor, or substance that the body can convert into a specific vitamin – B5. It is widely found in skincare because when it’s applied topically, it’s quickly converted into vitamin B5 which binds and holds water effectively, moisturising the skin, seal the cracks in the skin keeping the water locked in the skin thus maintaining its’ softness, smoothness and elasticity.

It also has anti-inflammatory properties and is involved in activating the proliferation of cells that are important for wound healing and restoring the function of the skin barrier.
