Spirulina is a blue- green algae grown in fresh and brackish inland waters, forming spiral filaments or chains that led to its descriptive name. Known as “Superfoods”, Spirulina contains 60% all-vegetable protein, a high-quality protein; rich in beta carotene, iron, vitamin B complex and the rare essential fatty acid, gamma linolenic acid (GLA) that is very few substances on Earth.
Rich in nutrients, Spirulina facilitates faster cell turnover that helps skin heal faster. It wards off free radicals and eliminates toxins from the skin to increase skin metabolism. The algae also decrease inflammation, tones the skin thus promoting a more youthful-looking complexion.
