Our Story

The Secret Valley In The Himalayas

Idemo – beauty of nature, is inspired by the extreme climate of the Himalayas, the glory of the sun, freshness of the air and the unblemished glacier water in this innocent valley with its abundance of Himalayan Apricot.

The idemo story begins with a visit to the foothills of the Himalayas, back in 2012. Like a soft whisper to the soul, this place invites your spirit into a captivating world of nature. The people here, while having few material needs, were endowed with glowing, radiant skin regardless of their age amidst the background of the peaceful trickle of melting glaciers merging into the rivers passing through the valley that irrigates the Himalayan apricot farms. With the blazing sun shining on the fruit trees and mountain breeze blowing through the leaves, it is these four unique elements up on the Himalayas that make the farmland fertile with it’s unique fruits.

These apricots are individually picked by hand and the oil is then extracted without changing any of its chemical properties, thus preserving the natural abundance of nutrients provided by Mother Nature.

Using this core ingredient, Idemo created a range of skin care products inspired by nature by blending this unique fruit oil with a unique blend of other plants and flowers across the world. Idemo believes in connecting people to return to nature by providing the highest quality series of luxurious, natural and vegan friendly skin care.

Idemo is proud to be one of the many social enterprises working towards access to quality education by supporting children living in areas of conflict and humanitarian crisis to return to school, because we believe that access to a quality education is a fundamental human right.

Why We Do It - Our Responsibilities

We are made wise not by the recollection of the past, but by the responsibility for our future "George Bernard Shaw"

Idemo uses hand harvested apricot seeds of freshly matured apricot fruits from a remote village in the meadows of the Himalayan mountains and cold processed in Malaysia.

Using fresh raw ingredients is key to ensure all of the vital nutrients still remain within the plant matter. Heating the plants above 100ºc can destroy many of the vitamins, minerals, enzymes & phytonutrients. The fatty oils in our products are cold pressed and completely unheated.

Idemo deals directly with the native farmers of the Himalayas to ensure that they reap a fair return on their harvest by paying fair prices and donate an additional percentage of our revenue to education programs that improve the lives of children in areas that need them the most.

Why We Do It - Our Cause

W.B. Yeats, once said that, "education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire"

idemo was founded on the belief to support the education of children that need it. We feel the need to break down the barriers to education by helping poor and vulnerable children access early childhood and primary school services.

Only through an education can many children see their route out of poverty, it gives them a chance to gain the knowledge and skills needed to improve their lives. When children miss out on school and sacrifice their education, they become trapped in a cycle of poverty.

The 2015 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals have committed to achieving inclusive and quality education for all to promote lifelong learning by 2030. This goal will be achieved by ensuring free and equitable access to quality early childhood education, primary and secondary schooling for all.

Idemo is proud to be one of the many social enterprises working towards access to quality education by supporting children living in areas of conflict and humanitarian crisis to return to school, because we believe that access to a quality education is a fundamental human right.
