Sugar squalane is the renewable squalene which is highly pure, sustainable & stable squalene. Squalene is a component of human sebum accounts for approximately 12-13% of our sebum composition. It is produced naturally in the body. Squalene lubricates and protects our skin from lipid peroxidation. It is key to having supple, young-looking skin that is soft to touch. This production is highest in our early years and rapidly declines in our thirties, resulting in dry, wrinkled skin. We require additional squalene for skin replenishment to keep it moisturised and improved skin barrier function as we age.
