With only 270,000 inhabitants living in this unique village along the mountain range, the environment is well preserved with pure air and pristine water coming down from the glacier.
To survive in harsh environment where it reaches nearly -30c during winter, exposed to high UV radiation, large temperature variation and strong wind, the trees have developed strong resistant capacity by producing highly protected substances to enhance their resilience.
